An online shop needs the right visitors to find the right products and buy with confidence. We assess the complete journey, from category discovery to checkout, instead of treating rankings as the final result.

Give categories and products clear purposes

Category pages help shoppers compare a meaningful selection. Product pages explain a particular offer. We assess whether those jobs are clear or whether important choices are buried in site search, filter combinations or repeated manufacturer text.

We prioritise commercially useful destinations: categories you can compete in, products you can fulfil and information that helps a buyer choose. Publishing more pages is not automatically useful when the underlying catalogue or proposition is unclear.

Fix the technical foundations of the catalogue

Sorting, filtering, variants, pagination and tracking parameters can create multiple addresses for similar content. We review the resulting URL structure, internal links and indexing instructions against the behaviour the business needs.

  • Make important products and categories discoverable through navigation.
  • Check canonical URLs and duplicate product paths.
  • Review variant handling and stock-status changes.
  • Keep visible prices, availability and any structured data consistent.
  • Check the impact of redesigns, platform changes and catalogue imports.

The implementation depends on the platform and available access. We state what we can change directly and what needs your platform specialist or vendor, rather than claiming expertise in every ecommerce system.

Remove buying uncertainty

A product page should answer the questions that block a purchase: what is included, which option is suitable, delivery expectations, important limitations and where to obtain support. These answers need input from the business, not invented sales copy.

We also examine mobile usability, basket behaviour and checkout handovers. If the offer attracts the wrong customer or essential costs appear too late, additional search traffic may amplify an existing conversion problem.

Measure revenue with its limitations visible

Useful reporting connects search activity with sales, order value, margin considerations and returns where the data permits. Brand demand, discounts, stock and seasonality affect outcomes; a simple before-and-after traffic chart cannot explain all of them.

Naxtech’s published products demonstrate work involving online orders, payments and integrations. A new ecommerce project is assessed on its own platform, catalogue and fulfilment model. We begin with your priority categories, current performance and technical constraints, then propose a realistic set of improvements. If the main problem is conversion or data quality rather than content volume, that is where the work should begin.

Common questions

Do you guarantee product rankings?

No. Search platforms decide rankings. We agree the work, validation and measurement, and explain the competitive assumptions before committing to a programme.

Can you work alongside our ecommerce developers?

Yes. We can provide implementation specifications, answer questions and validate changes where direct access or platform expertise sits with another team.

Do we need thousands of new articles?

Usually the catalogue, category structure and buying information need assessing first. Supporting content should answer useful questions and connect to products you actually sell.
